See DetailsTo enhance public safety following recent gas-related incidents, China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) have launched a three-month special inspection campaign targeting the quality of pressure reducing valves used in urban gas systems.
As a critical safety device connecting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders to appliances, the quality of a pressure regulator is paramount for household safety. The campaign will inspect manufacturing, distribution (including e-commerce platforms and physical hardware stores), and focus on key safety performance indicators such as outlet pressure stability, shut-off pressure, and leak tightness.
A SAMR director emphasized, "We will strictly deal with manufacturers and distributors of non-compliant products found during inspections and publicize the results according to the law. We are determined to prevent substandard products from endangering consumers."
Industry experts advise consumers to only purchase regulators that clearly display a Production License Number, a Certificate of Compliance, and legible manufacturer information. They also remind the public that the service life of a typical LPG regulator is five years, after which it must be replaced.
